How to Bring Magic into Your Life

“I am one of 7 billion souls, living on a green planet that flawless orbits a ball of fire, next to a moon that moves the seas. How could I not believe in miracles?”

I don’t know about you, but my October was wonderful…ish. Granted, I had a lot of breakdowns and it wasn’t fun, but there was so much that I learned. I think the most important thing that I learned is how to make life magical.

Living is such a magical experience, but when you’re stuck in your head, it’s difficult to notice all of the magic that’s possible every single day.

Here are 5 ways to make your life a little bit more magical!

1. Focus on the Positives

I know that it’s easier said than done, trust me. I’m someone who really likes to focus on the negative aspects of life, it’s a part of who I am, but being able to focus on the positives in life makes it five times more magical. For example, right now, it’s snowing. I could focus on how cold I am and what a hassle it is to put on layers just to stay warm, etc., or I can focus on how pretty it is outside and how cozy I am in this giant sweatshirt. I could think of the hot chocolate and the magic that snow brings into my life. Mindset is always the key to happiness. If you stay in a negative mindset, then you will only see the negatives in life. However, if you’re in a positive mindset, you’ll be able to see the positives.

2. Listen to Happy and Comforting Music

As the seasons shift from fall to winter (at least, that’s what Colorado is doing right now), it’s really easy to get seasonal depression. For most of the day, it’s dark and gloomy, and no one wants to go outside. I think something that really helps me to get out of this depression is the music that I listen to. Generally, I associate winter with sad songs that match the weather, but when I listen to my summer playlist, I am instantly happier. The same goes with comforting songs. For example, I listen to Hug by SEVENTEEN when I want to cry because it makes me feel not alone and the song literally feels like a hug to me. So, I encourage you to listen to music that makes you happy and comfortable during this season.

3. Don’t Be Afraid to Be Yourself

I have social anxiety, so I want to fit in as much as possible, however, I realized that that’s not the way to live a magical and fulfilling life. We’re all different. We have our unique style, our unique tastes that no one else can match and I think it’s time that we learn to accept that. Don’t be afraid to dance to your music or have a “quirky” style. It will give you self-confidence and you will probably bring magic into other people’s lives as well. Wear what you want, act how you want, be as serious or as silly as you want. It’s your life, make it magical!

4. Find Your Hobbies, Embrace Them, and Grow in Them

If you don’t have a hobby that fulfills you, then it’s time to start exploring. Thankfully, I know what hobby brings me the most happiness. I’ve been performing since I was about 6 or 7 years old. That’s about 55% of my life filled with the magic of show business. Now, I stopped performing a few years ago and I noticed how empty I feel when I’m not on stage, so I decided to grow into that hobby by minoring in theatre. If you can find and embrace a hobby that fulfills you, then grow in it and live in that magic.

5. Love Unconditionally

The most magical thing you can do in your life is love. Love everyone around you. Love everything around you. Love the earth. Love people. Love animals. Open your heart and continue to give unending love. Even when I wasn’t Christian, I have always loved to read 1 Corinthians 13. This chapter is all about the power of love. In this chapter, Paul talks about love and how that is the strongest and most important thing we as human possess. Love is so important to live a fulfilling life. I encourage you all to do everything you do from a place of love and compassion and your life will be so fulfilling.

Hopefully, you can use these tips to make your life a bit more magical.

Lots of Love,

Meghan ❤
