My Morning Skincare

Of course, when it comes to skincare, the first thing to do is cleanse. I do a gentle cleanse in the morning, so all of the excess oils that have gathered on my face the night before are removed. It’s also really refreshing to splash some water on my face and cleanse all of the bad energy from whatever happened during the night. I happen to use the Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser in the morning.

This cleanser works wonders for my skin. It is very gentle and helps hydrate the skin while removing excess oils and impurities. With ingredients including a variety of clays, to pull out impurities, rice and olive oil esters, to balance the skin, and neroli extract, to soothe the skin, this gel cleanser is perfect for waking up and renewing your skin.

After I cleanse, I tone my face. Toner gives moisture to the skin as well as balancing the pH. It also helps add layers of protection to the skin as well as shrinking pores. The toner that I use is from The Face Shop. It is the Chia Seed Hydrating Facial Toner.

Unfortunately, it seems that you can only get The Face Shop products in store, unless you want to buy it from some really sketchy Amazon seller. What I like about this toner, though, is that it hydrates the face really well after cleansing. The entire chia seed line from The Face Shop is designed for dry skin, which I have, so it is very hydrating.

After toning, I use vitamin C. Vitamin C helps produce collagen in the skin and can also help with UV-induced photodamage. I use two vitamin C products on my face, the Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C and Turmeric Face Oil and the Context Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream. These two products have brightened my skin and helped produce a protective collagen layer in my skin. I cannot recommend using vitamin C enough.

After all of that comes the first of the final steps, moisturizer. This is one of the most important steps. Not only does it make your skin look younger, but it also provides protection in the long-term by helping your skin cells renew faster. I am currently using belief’s The true cream – aqua bomb, although I have just recently learned that this product is more suited towards normal to oily skin, which I do not have. Once I finish this product though, I would like to try their moisturizing bomb to see if it works better for my skin.

The final step of my morning skincare routine is sunscreen. Doesn’t matter what type of sunscreen, as long as it’s SPF 35+ and has UVA and UVB protection. Both types of ultraviolet rays are harmful to the skin, so make sure to protect it.

Lots of love,

Meghan ❤
