For the Love of Being Outdoors

“We do not see nature with our eyes, but with our understandings and our hearts.”

In a society where everyone spends their time indoors, on their phone, tablet, or laptop, spending time outside is rare. There’s something beautiful about nature though. It’s refreshing and rejuvenating.

When I’m outside, I feel relaxed and energized at the same time. There’s a life-force within the earth and it’s so refreshing. There’s something that makes me feel safe and comforted. It’s an amazing feeling.

I would say, if you can, try to spend an hour or so outside everyday. No electronics of any kind, just you and nature. Sit there, in the grass, or not, your choice, and observe. Listen to the sounds of nature, watch the breeze move the grass and the trees, feel the wind. Spend some time with yourself.

If there are animals where you are, sit quietly and watch them in their natural habitat. Observe everything. Observe how you are feeling. Observe your heartbeat. Close your eyes and observe introspectively. Find what the universe wants for you at that very moment.

There are also so many health benefits to spending time outdoors. According to Harvard Medical School, five main benefits to being outside include vitamin D, exercise, happiness (due to light), improved concentration, and improved healing (read the article here).
This summer, spend some time outside. I promise that you will feel better.

Lots of love,

Meghan ❤
